In case you’re not a sports person, the 2020 Olympics will take place in Tokyo and the preparations have already begun. Stadiums are being renovated, taco stands are being built, and people in general are very hyped for this world-class event.

Japan is well known for manga and anime, so it’s no surprise that a few local artists have come up with a great idea to promote the 2020 Olympics. Inspired by anime, they’ve turned flags of over 30 countries into badass anime warriors with swords spears, armor and all that stuff. But the artists don’t just slap a flag on some generic character’s armor. Instead, they take into account cultural and historical background, as well as the national identity of those countries. What I’m saying is that a lot of effort and thought went into each of these drawings, so please take your time and pay close attention to the details.
